Ward rounds can worry patients who may need additional reassurance
A group of doctors, nurses etc on a ward round can be hugely intimidating to a patient in bed. Although some doctors are better than others, there are times when something inappropriate may be said by the bedside that causes the patient great distress or anxiety.
As a nurse, returning to the bedside after the round has finished can stop the patient worrying unnecessarily.
It's such a simple thing to do but, sadly, it doesn't always happen.
