University Hospital, Coventry's Memory Lane and Forget-me-not Lounge help patients with dementia
Univerity Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust have created Memory Lane and Forget-me-not Lounge to help ensure that all patients with dementia receive the best possible care.
The walls of Memory Lane are covered with images of Coventry and Warwickshire from the past hundred years. As many patients with dementia have good long term memories, the idea is to stimulate that memory and to promote conversation.
The Forget-me-not Lounge is painted in gentle pastal colours. The aim is to provide a stress-free environment, maximising the opportunity for patients and visitors to enjoy a relaxing time together.
