Pre-prepared late night snacks can be a welcome treat for some
At my mother's Residential Home, the staff make up several small plates of sandwiches, covered in clingfilm, for any resident who fancies a late night snack.
Sandwiches are often one of evening meal options, so it is easy to make up a few extra for those who enjoy eating something before they go to bed.
Although it is not always ideal to eat at a later time, some people with poor appetites perfer little and often. Others, who don't sleep well, regardess of what they do or don't eat, love to have this lttle snack to break up the evening.
Having these healthy snacks so easily to hand, enables the patients to enjoy something nutritious at a moment's notice.
