Praising those who 'go the extra mile'

Many of us may be quick to criticise staff when things are not as they should be. If you feel you have had some bad care, it is important to ensure that you address this issue to a senior member of staff as soon as possible.

However, it is also important to thank staff for excellent care. Everyone responds well to praise and many staff work tirelessly to try and ensure that their patients get the best possible care.

So, if you feel you or your loved one has been well looked after, seek out the staff responsible and thank them. Sometimes staff can find it difficult to know if their efforts have been appreciated. When they are thanked, it is a great incentive to do even better next time.
