Dementia - sensible advice from a relative
Thanks to Marjory Frame for sending us her suggestions for caring for someone with dementia.
She writes...
'Provide books and/or magazines on topics which the dementia sufferer enjoyed when in better health. It doesn't matter if the patient can remember the story line or not. A familiar activity is enjoyable
A daily newspaper gives a routine and can remind a patient which day of the week it is.
I myself hope that if I suffer from dementia in the future someone will also think to provide me with radio 4.'
