Bingo and other board games help residents with short term memory loss to play their part
Residents, relatives, staff and volunteers regularly enjoy lively bingo sessions at Bancroft Gardens Residential Home.
Bingo, like Scrabble, Draughts and Chess, does not require anyone to remember anything. So, having any form of short term memory loss does not disadvantage any of the participants.
No one is excluded. Some residents do need support but everyone seems to enjoy the game.
Many residents take the game very seriously so it is important to stick to the rules.
Staff, vollunteers and relatives can be every bit as competitive as the residents. Everyone takes care to ensure no one misses a number and everyone is delighted whoever wins the prize.
