Aprons..... not plastic bibs
Many patients ,particularly the elderly, who may have suffered strokes or other conditions that make eating difficult are swathed in large plastic aprons before each meal. The appearance does NOTHING to improve their dignity.
When my own mother was faced with this problem, I bought a selection of colourful cook's aprons from a kitchen shop so that she could look more stylish as she ate. The aprons cost me a couple of pounds and can be easily washed by me along with her other washing.
I think it has made a significant difference to her morale at mealtimes.
